Mangaluru, is the chief port city of Karnataka. Mangalore was ranked India’s 13th and Karnataka’s second most favourable destination for business by Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment and Management (GIREM) and real estate consultancy firm DTZ. Smart City Project of Mangaluru focuses on developments of waterfronts, roads and improvement of fisheries to promote trade and thus help in improvement of economy. The current population is 5.0 lakhs and population density is 38 PPHA along with 1,12,444 households and 132.4 Sq.Km of total area surface. Pan-city development envisages application of selected Smart Solutions to the existing city-wide infrastructure. Application of Smart Solutions will involve the use of technology, information and data to make infrastructure and services better. Some significant and key Pan projects have been proposed in the Area Based Development (ABD) for which INR 693.43 Cr is the total Pan Project Cost and the Grand total cost is INR 2400.72 Cr.
